FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SCHOOL EXCURSIONS

A school excursion – whether as a family holiday event or a school programme – lets a child experience and observe things not always possible in school. With such an impactful purpose, it’s not surprising why many parents and educators in Singapore find school excursions important.

Some of the benefits of school excursions are as follows

  • Children can apply what they learnt during the school excursion back in the classroom for more meaningful engagement with curriculum
  • Children can broaden their knowledge of the world through cultural exploration
  • Children can develop their social skills during workshops and tours when they collaborate with peers on projects
  • Children can improve their relationship with teachers and parents

There are various types of school excursions, typically divided into two groups:

  • Domestic: School excursions take place within Singapore
  • International: School excursions take place beyond geographical boundaries

In both groups, the length of the school excursions can vary:

  • Day trip: School excursions start and end within the day, often taking up the whole day or half a day.
  • Multiple days: School excursions are longer, over the span of 2 days or more.

One of the best places for a school excursion in Singapore is the museum, such as the MINT Museum of Toys. We offer a range of experiences for kids, including experiential learning activities for students and educational workshops for kids.

It’s easy to organise a school excursion. Here are some quick steps:

  • Confirm available dates for school excursions with internal parties
  • Reach out to respective institutions for programme options
  • Book a slot and retrieve all the necessary information for the school excursion for sharing
